Accreditation
DISCLAIMER: Neither the PMI Center for Biblical Studies or Calvary Christian College and Seminary are accredited by any Government agency, nor do we want to be. If you plan to transfer our credits, please check with the registrar of your future school to see whether or not our credits will be acceptable to them.
Let me assure that we have never represented ourselves as anything but what we are- a ministry of a local, King James Bible teaching church that is preparing men of God for serving the Lord Jesus Christ. In light of that, we don’t train lawyers, physicians, business professionals, public school teachers, state university professors or any other vocation in the world other than pure and humble servants of Christ. This is an inconvenient truth for secularists to wrap their minds around.
Let me assure you that ministry is a calling of God. In my opinion- and I’m not alone here- any church or other organization that is more interested in where I went to school than in my Christian character; how committed I am to our Saviour, Jesus; how much time I spend in prayer and in the Word; how many souls I win and disciple for Christ; how submitted I am to the work of the Saviour; how much I love people, and my family; etc., etc., is frankly not an organization I would consider affiliating myself with. One day in the future- perhaps when you are faced with this choice of where to serve the Lord- you will fully understand exactly what I’m talking about here.
Now about accreditation. If anyone tries to lead you to believe a Bible and ministry training school would be more credible if it were “accredited” by a government agency is no different than making this requirement of a church. The fact is, God, not the government, called us to ministry and it is God’s approval- not the government- we need to operate.
Promise Ministries, The PMI Center, and Calvary Christian College and Seminary stand without apology as “unaccredited” by the recognized 6 regional government sanctioned accrediting agencies, with no intention of ever seeking such dubious status from Caesar. From what we’ve seen, government accredited schools- while being extremely expensive- must at some level accept or associate with others that teach evolution as fact, abortion as a right, and homosexuality as an alternative lifestyle; all of which are abominable to God and ultimately destroy the faith foundations that built the school. Harvard, Yale, Princeton, and others all began as evangelistic Christian schools. They fell to godless liberalism in their efforts to be more acceptable to the secular masses.
A government accredited degree may be necessary if you are planning to transfer into another accredited college or university, or if you need legally recognized credentials (lawyer, accountant, doctor, public school teacher) or if you plan to use your degree to land a job requiring an accredited degree. However, ministry is a calling from God, and as such requires no government approval. It does, however, demand obedience to the calling of God whereby He will open doors for you that the government never can! If you desire acceptability of our credits into any another school, it’s up to them to make that determination, so check with them BEFORE YOU ENROLL. The PMI Center and Calvary Christian will not compromise for the sake of acceptability.
